What Is Item Upgrade And Why Is Everyone Talking About It?
Throne and Liberty Gear Upgrades
Upgrading gear increases its base stats, and sometimes increases its other features. The worth of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements, and the amount of random augmentations that are applied.
For instance, the premium shield of racial violence Razortail is usually upgraded to improve its lightning absorb ability in PvP, or to add additional defenses to missile-based designs in PvM. This makes it more exchangeable over the unupgraded version.
Reroll Tokens
Reroll tokens can be used to reroll an item you have acquired like a weapon, armor or ring. The item is swapped for one similar item, with a different set of extra bonuses. Reroll tokens are an economical method of upgrading equipment. However, they don't retain the level of the original item, and any wasted resources will not be refunded.
The survivors can acquire reroll tokens via a variety of methods like the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. They can be found in chests and crates or purchased from the store at a cost of 150k each. Reroll tokens can be used to alter an attribute on an item, such as increasing its damage or granting it a new stat.
Players can roll their equipment into three attributes: physical power, magic power, and health. Physical power upgrades boost the damage done by melee and weapons and spell power improves rings and mage attacks. Health upgrades give the player additional health.
Three types of reroll tokens are available such as upgrade rare and legendary. Each of these upgrades an item to a better quality, with the requirement of a higher-level reroll token in order to create it. Upgrades that are enhanced require a standard item, rare upgrades require a unique or a legendary item, and legendary upgrades require three legendary items.
The marker that rerolls, unlike markers or tokens that are placed on action areas, remains on the space until the next Success is to be rerolled. This lets you avoid wasting upgrades.
Blueprints appear as envelopes at the start of each Preparation Phase, and can be opened by grabbing them with Interact. Once they're opened they will display a complete description and the icon of the appliance or ingredient that they correspond to. The restaurant's shop can exchange blueprints for a new appliance or ingredient for a small amount.
During the course of a game, blueprints can be moved between the Staple Pool and the Non-staple pool as a result of the choice of Franchise Cards. This alters the blueprints the restaurant's shop has available to reroll, and those that are in the non-droppable Pool.
Growthstones
In Throne and Liberty, growth stones can be used to upgrade weapons, armor and other accessories. These are special stones that boost an item's level by increasing its stats and abilities. These items can be found by visiting Equipment Enchanting NPCs in the main towns. Contract Coin Merchants will sell them for a price. These stones are also available to players who sign daily contracts.
To upgrade gear players must first locate the item, then click the "level up button". This will display a menu that shows the item's current status and what it will be after being upgraded and the required amount of Growth Stones to do so. The number of Growth Stones required to upgrade a piece of gear will depend on its rarity. Typically rare (blue) weapons require more than one green Growth Stone to reach their next level, while uncommon armor requires just one green or blue Growth Stone.
After deciding on what to upgrade, players need to select the number of green Growth Stones they wish to use and pay the appropriate cost. Once the player has met the requirements, they can select the upgrade option and apply the Growth Stones. This will raise the item's level by a certain percentage. Depending on the rarity of the item the upgrade process can be as quick as a few seconds to minutes.
The upgrade process is risk-free and doesn't affect the longevity of the item. This makes the system an excellent method for players to get a significant advantage in combat without putting stress on their bank accounts. Moreover, players can transfer the experience and the progress of an upgraded item to a new gear by clicking on the "transfer" tab.
For new players, it can be difficult to obtain Growth Stones. However, there are item upgrading to obtain them, including signing contracts and buying them from the Contract Coin Merchant, defeating Abyssal Contract enemies, obtaining them from the Equipment Stone Seal Book, or obtaining them from reward chests during the Ancient Arena season. Additionally, players can cut down the higher-level Growth Stones to create multiple lower-level ones.
Leveling
Leveling is a feature that allows you to boost the power of armor and weapons. You can also upgrade trinkets and helms. It's done by adding upgrades at the Upgrade Station and paying a fee in Happy Stars or Happy Tickets. The upgrade components will be consumed and the item will gain an upgrade to a higher level. This process can be repeated until the highest level for an item has been reached.
Items with upgraded stats will have a blue icon beside their slot. In contrast to enchantments, upgrade components cannot be stacked against each other, and can only be added to a single item at one time. Furthermore each upgrade component will require a specific amount of items to be added in addition to an initial amount for the equipment.
The Upgrade Station is divided into two slots. On the left side, players can choose to add items to be upgraded. On the right side, an image of the gear will look like at its next level. Pressing the yellow arrow when a player has sufficient materials will initiate the upgrade process.
A piece of gear can be upgraded a maximum of five times. Each time it is upgraded the base stats of an item will increase by only a tiny amount. The maximum level of an item is 19.
When an item reaches its maximum level, it will no longer have the option of upgrading. In the same way, once an item is on a certain upgrade track (e.g. Upgrades for the Veteran or Explorer track ) they will be discounted.
Upgrade components are a kind of equipment that can be put into weapons, armor, trinkets, and gathering tools to give an attribute bonus or extra effect when the equipment is equipped. They can be bought from vendors, looted or obtained through quests, or traded between players. Upgrade components can be swapped by acquiring new ones. However, this will ruin the previous upgrade.
Requirements
Upgrades to items allow players to boost the stats of certain armors and weapons they already have. The requirements for upgrading an item will differ depending on the type of item however, you'll usually require Dilithium and a number Upgrade Tokens.
Upgrades to items can be slotted into equipment set pieces or weapons to provide extra effects or a higher item level. These upgrades can be obtained from a variety of sources, such as crafting, purchasing at the Trading Post, karma vendors or looting from bosses and raids. Once an upgrade component is inserted into an object, it isn't able to be removed or replaced. However the glyphs can be swapped freely.
Upgrades can increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity. Additionally, some upgrade components include additional modifiers that could further increase the stats of an item.
For example, the helm upgrade "Foundation of the Sun" increases base defense, and also gives an additional 20% chance to block. The dps "Wildfire" on the other hand increases damage to weapons.
Upgrades can be beneficial for some items, but not because they boost stats. They are more valuable to players when they achieve a perfect roll. For example, a perfect-rolled 200/6 504 armor set piece is highly sought-after in the melee PvP community and can be worth 20-50x the non-upp'd version.
When you select an upgrade component to slot into an item the game will show an in-game window that lists the requirements required for that item. These include the item type (either Armor or Weapon) and the tier of that item as well as the upgrade Token required, as well as the amount of progress required to complete the upgrade.
The game will add an item in your inventory when you have fulfilled the requirements for an upgrade. The progress bar will update to show how close you are towards getting the upgrade completed. You can also verify the status of an upgrade by visiting any NPC that upgrades items.
